Elefanten in Not is a Swiss-registered NGO based in Kanton St. Gallen, dedicated to the survival of wild elephants in India. Founded and led by filmmaker and conservationist Brigitte Uttar Kornetzky, our mission is to mitigate the escalating human-elephant conflict in Golaghat, Assam.
Since 2010, Brigitte has been actively involved in elephant welfare in India, focusing specifically on the Golaghat area since 2018. We serve as the primary funders for our on-the-ground partner, the Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Center (WRRC), a legally registered Indian NGO.
Together, we are planting medicinal trees to restore vital migratory corridors for elephants, working with local communities to foster peaceful coexistence, and documenting our work through film and a.o. to raise global awareness.
