Step into the team of HackthePromise Festival – Festival für Digitalität, Kunst und Gesellschaft! We’re looking for curious and excited people to help build the festival’s space, bring the exhibitions to life, and make our three-day program full of talks, workshops, and hands-on hacks.

If you’ve landed here, that means you’re curious—about communities, social change, digital politics, art, new media… or just want to hack into a new exciting reality for the next few days!

HackthePromise Festival (HTP25) is happening soon, October 3–5, 2025, at Padelhalle Klybeck, Basel.

For this reason, we’re looking for extra hands, minds, and energy to help realize our program of talks, workshops, an exhibition, and a special hacking market. Join us behind the scenes and help prepare this year’s festival edition as we explore hacking as a socio-technical practice that resists techno-positivist structures.

Volunteers eager to support different festival tasks between October 1–6, 2025.

In particular, we’ll need your help in these areas:

Build & Tear down the venue + exhibition
Run the bar & welcome guests
Support artists & contributors backstage
Awareness Team
Technical riders for room coordination

We are a small, but passionate community-oriented team. By joining us, you’ll be able to:

Connect with a rebellious community of artists, coders, designers, and social workers.
Gain hands-on experience running a festival at 360°— from organization to technical setup, coordination of artists, and behind-the-scenes operations.
Learn directly from contributors and participants about their experiences and insights in the field.
Immerse yourself in a active environment, contributing to urgent societal questions and transformation, exchanging with peers, and amplify your community in Basel (and beyond).

For your support during the festival’s events, we’ll prepare an official certificate of participation for you and give you a special gift.
